none;text-autospace:none">This is just a list
of some of the most reliable and great skate tools that have ever been made.
Not only quality but in price and as well durability. Again, this is just a
rough list. There are many more on the market but these are the ones that have
stood the test of time and are in every pro skaters toolbox. They're the tools
of the gods and the best stocking stuffers.

none;text-autospace:none">1. The Elephant
Wrench skate key with a bushing popper on it that, as seen in the film Gleaming
the Cube
, doubled as a car ignition
picker. Sorry kids, it was a Hollywood myth, trust me I tried it tons of times
on my pop's Buick back in the day and it never worked.

none;text-autospace:none">2. Fix Stick. It
was as raw as it got with a bearing remover and as well a long stick to get to
the hardware. The bolt connect was so long you could use the shaft as a grip
tape file as well.

none;text-autospace:none">3. Gullwing 6 pack.
This was a huge advance in skate keys due to the fact it came with a Phillips
screwdriver and a Allen wrench head bock with the other tools. It was so raw
and it seemed to not strip out. The only problem was it was easy to loose the
screwdriver.

4. The Unit tool.
Jason Maxwell told me that Syndrome has the patent on this tool and that is why
it is the top seller. The metal is hard to strip and the wrench is held in a
slit on the top of it so you do not lose it and it is ergonomic to use.

none;text-autospace:none">5. The Powell Skate
One tool. This thing was and is the Swiss Army knife of skate tools. It had
everything but a razor blade and a lube built into it. I love this tool it has
a ratchet head on one side so that you can take bolts off at Indy car speeds
and every other wrench head on it so you can take apart the Greyhound you are
stuck on from Seattle to SF as it stops at every Wendy's every 8 feet during
your journey, but that is another story. My point is this tool is rad and I am
bummed Rob Washburn stopped flowing me stuff after Willy Santos left, what is
this guilt by assiskation? Hey buddy, here is the plug call me or I will
tell everybody your address.

none;text-autospace:none">

none;text-autospace:none">6. The Girl skate
key. Sam Smyth just sent me 2 of these bad boys or should I say bad girls? And
they looked wicked like a bottle of death metal and lava flying at an electric
fence. Super good so far, they wrench hard, they are light and you can hang it
from your key chain. What more do you need in a skate tool? Not to mention she
has some sexy serrated edges on her legs for cutting grip and full filing any
S&M fantasy.

none;text-autospace:none">

7. The Reflex tool.
Yes, she is big, she is orange, she can rethread your axle after you land primo
800 times and she never strips out. This is the Craftsmen of skate tools. Sure
it is heavy but tools with good weight last longer and they double as a hammer
if bolts are being lame. This is the Milwaukee drill of skate tools, built to
last and will never leave you hanging. I have 2 of them in my trunk and they
are down for the long haul. Truly the Cadillac of skate tools. Plus, it comes
in bright orange so you will not lose it at a skate spot.

none;text-autospace:none">

8. The Tracker tool.
No clue what the name is but Larry Balma invented it a bit ago and it has a
gasket on it keeping the screwdriver from falling out if you have it in your
pocket and it is as small as they get. This tool has a nice chrome sheen to it
and doubles as a slide for any human who wants to play blues guitar.

none;text-autospace:none">

9. The el Diablo
Spitfire skate tool. This thing looks like an army surplus p38 can remover
favored by gutter punks and pan pro pan handlers around the world. Do not let
its thin size fool you though it takes mad torque and it is built like anything
in SF, to survive.

none;text-autospace:none">

10. Destructo Field
skateboard tool. This thing comes with a holder and it looks like a leather men
knife and should be in some industrial design show. It looks rad and works
well.
